Xylan - pilot production

In Bohus close to Gothenburg, Sweden, the company has built a pilot production plant. This is a step towards large scale production. The pilot plant is used for production of the natural carbohydrate  xylan that constitutes the basis of the barrier material. Xylan is isolated from cereal hulls and husks, a by-product from agriculture. The pilot production plant enables optimisation of separate process steps as well as the complete process using equipment that is very similar to that used in large scale production.
